Karen Heyl
A native of Cincinnati, Karen has been a stone sculptor for over 30 years. Her studio is located at the Pendleton Art Center in the Over-the-Rhine area in Cincinnati.
Bas-relief sculpture carved in limestone is the work for which she is best known.
Karen uses Old World bas-relief stone carving techniques and is known for the narrative nature of her works.
Limestone provides a sense of permanence, is durable and maintenance free, as can be seen in architecture throughout Ohio.
